Concise Statements about The Truth
by Gerd Bruno
Two thousand years ago the Gospel message was given. This “Good News” message, given as a declaration from God, was this:
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10–11)
The following Scriptures are also part of the Gospel message:
“God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:17)
“And we have seen and testified that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.” (1 John 4:14)
It is God’s express will to “have all men to be saved”. (1 Tim. 2:4)
“As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” (1 Cor. 15:21–22)
Jesus “gave himself a ransom for all” (1 Tim. 2:6), and upon this “ransom for all”, upon this divine doctrine: the salvation of all mankind is based.
All this, and much, much more, is part of the true Gospel message. All this, and much, much more, contains the true hope of salvation. All this, and much, much more, will not only bear out that God is truly merciful, that God is indeed a God of love, but that he is also a God of absolute justice.
Why is it that these statements of God’s Word are being ignored by all the denominations and groups of Christendom? Why are these absolutely wonderful facts not taught to the people of Christendom? In Is. 8:20, the LORD says: “If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
Therefore, through the prophet, the LORD God also says:
“Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.” (Is. 29:13–14)
These words are not only applicable to the people of the Jewish religion, but also to the people of the Islamic and Christian religions — to all those who say they believe in the God of Abraham.
